Betaine HCL and Pepsin (180 Tablets) by Endo-met Labs
Endo-met's Betaine HCL and Pepsin supplement contains specific nutrients required for the digestion of proteins in the stomach. Hydrochloric acid is necessary to activate pepsin, the major proteolytic enzyme in the stomach. Without adequate hydrochloric acid and pepsin, protein digestion is impaired. Poor protein digestion can result in food allergies, flatulence and inadequate absorption of peptides and amino acids from the intestinal tract.
One tablet of Endo-met Betaine HCL and Pepsin contains:
- Thiamin (5 mg as thiamine hydrochloride)
- Niacin (15 mg)
- Vitamin B6 (1.5 mg as pyridoxine hydrochloride)
- Betaine Hydrochloride (324 mg)
- Pepsin N.F. (135 mg)
Suggested Use: One tablet daily, or as directed by a physician.
How Supplied: Bottle of 180 tablets.

DR. LAWRENCE WILSON, M.D. uses Betaine HCL as a secondary digestive aid as explained on his website:
"...as a digestive aid. I much prefer GB-3, however. For the reasons why, please read the article entitled GB-3. Betaine HCl and pepsin can be added as a secondary digestive aid, and is helpful in a few cases. However, it is somewhat stimulatory. Dosage: 1-1-1 or 2-2-2 with meals. Some doctors use much more, but I do not find it necessary and, in fact, prefer GB-3 most of the time. If GB-3 causes diarrhea, which it does on occasion, I prefer Enz-Aid to Betaine HCl and pepsin. Dr. Eck used this product, however, so the ARL computer often recommends it."
